Thanks to the continued generosity of the NPCC community, we have received $15,000.00 in monetary donations to the Haiti relief fund and have been able to transfer these funds to the DCC network so that the badly needed family survival kits and supplies are distributed as quickly as possible. Many more in-kind donations of medical and other supplies have also been received and delivered to Port au Prince.

2000 family hygiene, food and shelter units are being mobilized through coordinated efforts with NPCC’s network partner, the Del Camino Connection. Donated funds that have come through DCC are being invested in the preparation of 500 more kits, 500 units of water and the logistical support for transportation and delivery.
These items are being purchased from suppliers in the DR and packed by volunteers from the Red del Camino network (Iglesia Comunitaria Cristiana in the Colonial City is housing these packing operations w/ volunteer help from other RdC network churches. The kits are then being shipped into distribution points in Haiti via the border crossings in Jimani, D.R. as well as in the border crossing at Elias Piña to the north. The main distribution point set up in Port au Prince is in Delmas in a donated facility that is being operated by pastors and churches there. We have heard from many of you in the last two days wanting to know how you can help the victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. We have been in close communication with our partner organizations in the region. They have both confirmed that in these initial days of rescue and recovery, the quickest and most effective way to assist Haitians impacted by the earthquake is to work closely with organizations that are already in place in the region to supply the most critical needs. With this in mind, NPCC will be working closely with two organizations that we have developed strong relationships with in recent years, the Del Camino Connection (DCC) and World Relief who are well organized and in place in Haiti and the DR to deliver aid as quickly and as effectively as possible.
Following are the latest updates on each of these organizations including information on how you can help. The Rotary and the Red Cross are two other local organizations that are also actively involved in the relief effort.
